UK viewers to miss out on ‘Bigg Boss OTT’ again

The momentum surrounding the digital version of ‘Bigg Boss’ is already reaching fever pitch. With just days to go before its launch, BizAsiaLive.com has learned that the mega reality series will not be accessible to UK viewers.

The first ‘Bigg Boss OTT’ edition was streamed in July 2021. It was hosted by Karan Johar and proved a runaway success. At the time, it was available on VOOT. However, this time, the show has shifted to sister streaming platform, JioCinema.

What is ‘Bigg Boss’ OTT
‘Bigg Boss OTT’ is a spin-off digital version of the popular reality series ‘Bigg Boss’. It launched as an experiment and turned out to be a huge success for the digital platform. The winner of the first ‘Bigg Boss OTT’ was Divya Agarwal. Divya, along with other finalists Nishant Bhat, Pratik Sehajpal and Shamita Shetty joined the main ‘Bigg Boss 16’ series in the same year.

Why will ‘Bigg Boss OTT’ not stream in UK
The main reason is that the JioCinema app is currently not available in the UK or other international markets. Rumours about the show airing on one of the Colors channels in the UK, have also been ruled out.

Where will ‘Bigg Boss OTT’ stream in India
In India, ‘Bigg Boss OTT’ will be available exclusively on the JioCinema app, which has recently streamed the IPL 2023 tournament. ‘Bigg Boss OTT’ goes online from Saturday 17th June.

In the UK, viewers may have to resort to clips on JioCinema’s social media handles and the Indian news channels.
