JioCinema & Voot expected to merge imminently
Signs of JioCinema and Voot merging into one digital app are looking ever likely after developments recently.
The two apps owned by Viacom18, will eventually see Voot content shifted to JioCinema. In the last few days, the Voot app has disappeared from app stores, while the Voot website is directing to JioCinema.
Up until now, the two apps have been operating separately but after the successful streaming of IPL 2023, JioCinema will become the sole digital entertainment service under the Viacom18 brand.

Furthermore, Voot Select customers are being given a promo code for JioCinema Premium, which will give them access to content not available to regular users. Shows that have streamed on Voot including ‘Bigg Boss’ and ‘Asur’ have shifted to JioCinema.
Currently, JioCinema is not available in the UK. Plans are underway to launch the service in international markets once the switch has taken place in India.
